Job summary

Carroll School in Peabody, MA is seeking a Paraprofessional for the Therapeutic Learning Community (TLC) program, 30 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting students individually or in small/large groups using various teaching strategies.

Job Description

Paraprofessional Special Education 30 hours per week TLC Program (Therapeutic Learning Community)

  • Assist students individually, in small groups, or in a large group, utilizing a variety of strategies and techniques to present or reinforce learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • CPI training (crisis prevention intervention training) must be successfully completed in the Paraprofessionals first year
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; and an Associate'sdegree (or higher); or completion of 48 credit hours at an Institution of Higher Education; or completion of a formal Massachusetts endorsed assessment: Parapro or WorkKeys.
  • Ability to use or willingness to learn appropriate technology
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • Salary: See school district website: Human Resources-Unit C payscale for hourly pay rate.
  • Bilingualism is a highly desired skill for a position, but not a requirement
