Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District is seeking a Middle or Elementary School Paraprofessional to assist teachers, counselors and administrators in delivering educational services to students with special needs at Baumgardner Middle School. Work includes supporting remedial, enrichment, and independent living activities.

The role requires 2 years of college coursework (or an associate degree or higher) and an active Educational Aide Permit or teaching license.

Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree or higher
• An active Educational Aide Permit or teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience operating basic office equipment (copiers)
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children up to 40 pounds
• Physical ability to perform all essential functions of the job

Job Summary: Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year

Middle School Parapro Day 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Elementary School Parapro Day: 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework
• OR an Associate's Degree or higher
• OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
• An active Educational Aide Permit(1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching licenseissued by the Ohio Department of Education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs

Salary

$17.47/hour (non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree); $21.50 (Teaching Certificate)
