Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District is seeking a Paraprofessional - Preschool - Special Education to support teachers and students at Gearity Professional Development School. The role involves assisting with educational services for students with special needs and helping achieve instructional goals.

Working days are Monday through Friday with a schedule aligned to 195 days/year. Candidates should have related education, a ParaPro credential, and the physical ability to

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework or an Associate's degree or higher.
• One year of related successful work experience.
• An active Educational Aide Permit (1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Experience operating basic office equipment such as copiers.

Responsibilities

Description: Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs. Work will involve assisting students with remedial, enrichment and/or independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals.

Job Summary: Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year Elementary School Parapro Day: 8:15AM - 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years of college coursework
• OR an Associate's Degree or higher
• OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
• An active Educational Aide Permit(1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching licenseissued by the Ohio Department of Education

Preferred qualifications: Experience working with students with special needs

Salary: $17.47/hour (non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree); $21.50 (Teaching Certificate)
