Job summary

McHenry Community Consolidated School District 15 seeks a Paraprofessional for the SA IL Autism Program at Valley View Elementary School. 175-day, full-time schedule 8:45 am - 4:05 pm; ASAP start. Reports to Building Principal and requires current Paraprofessional License.

Responsibilities include promoting a safe environment, CPI training preferred or willing to train, and strong communication with students, staff, and families. Benefits include health insurance, IMRF pension, and paid time off.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS

• Current and Valid Paraprofessional License; 60 college credit hour or Work Keys Test/other ISBE requirement for obtaining Paraprofessional License.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Ability to promote a safe environment including physical intervention as needed according to protocol.
• Candidates with CPI training preferred or willing to train.
• Ability to work as a cooperating member of a team and effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents and administration; Positive attitude and dependability a must.
• Willingness or experience working with young children with special needs.

PAY AND BENEFITS

• $17.50/hour starting plus benefits. The District can provide additional credit to candidates who have prior work experience.
