Job summary

AMS Tucson is seeking a Paraprofessional to join our dedicated team supporting teachers and students in an advanced K-8 curriculum. This role involves classroom assistance, supervision during transitions, and adapting instruction under the teacher's guidance.

Starting wage is $15.50 to $17 per hour, DOE, with full benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within our high-performing charter network serving a predominantly low-income student population.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; paraprofessional exam passed.
• Prior experience working with children in a school setting.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support campus-wide activities (lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal).
• Assist lead teachers with instruction, classroom management, and transitions.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce skills and support individualized plans.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure uninterrupted learning.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with grading or documentation.
