Job summary

Atlantic City Public Schools seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support classroom teachers by providing one-to-one assistance to students and helping with instructional materials both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements include at least two years of college or ParaPro, strong English communication, integrity, and the ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and students. A criminal history check and legal eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessionals must complete at least two years (60 credits) from an accredited college or pass the ParaPro Assessment offered by ETS.
• Previous experience working with students in a classroom setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices and demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities.
• Exhibits excellent integrity and demonstrates good moral character and initiative.
• Displays a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Frontline Applicant Tracking - Atlantic City Public Schools

JOB GOAL: To promote the achievement of students' educational goals and learning objectives by providing supplemental and clerical services to assist the classroom teacher.

Works under the direct supervision and direction of the classroom teacher to assist the student one-to-one in the classroom with all instructional materials and helps the student with needs outside of the classroom, but related to achieving needed skills and requirements for succeeding in school.
