Academies of Math and Science is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students at our Tucson campus. You will supervise campus activities, assist with instruction, and help prepare materials while substituting for teachers as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and passing paraprofessional exam.
• Associate’s degree or higher acceptable.
• Experience with children in a school setting preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support campus-wide activities to ensure student safety.
• Assist lead teachers with instruction, classroom management, and transitions.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce skills.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with grading or documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet academic and social-emotional needs.
• Model professionalism, respect, and high expectations in interactions with students, staff, and families.

Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is an academically advanced charter school network serving predominantly low-income students, with a decade-long track record of being either the highest or one of the highest performing K-8 charter schools in Arizona.As part of the AMS family, your role as a paraprofessional is to work alongside our team of talented educators in guiding motivated students through an advanced curriculum.
