The Richardson School in Cudahy, WI seeks an Instructional Aide to support students with significant needs in education, behavioral support, and daily living activities. The role focuses on implementing individualized programs under the guidance of teachers and the Education Leadership team.

Responsibilities include data entry, behavior tracking, and using approved techniques to foster learning, safety, and engagement in a classroom setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; related Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• At least 1 year of experience with special needs students preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities

• Meets with classroom teacher or supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral and medical concerns.
• Completes and submits paperwork, instructional data, and behavior data on schedule.
• Uses Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students after training.
• Familiar with behavior management and education techniques used at TRS.
• Acts as a role model for students, staff and the community.
• Implements students’ academic program under direction of the classroom teacher and Education Leadership team.
• Engages students in active learning and supports staff in the classroom setting.

For this role, relationship building is essential, as you are asked to assist the students’ needs in the areas of education, therapeutic/behavioral support, and hygiene as needed.The Richardson School is an alternative placement option for local districts to access for their students with significant needs and behavioral concerns. Our students are typically diagnosed with a combination of developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders. The school calendar follows the typical 180 educational days with the opportunity to attend Extended School Year for students in need of this programming.RESPONSIBILITIES:Meets with classroom teacher and/or immediate supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral support, social and/or medical concerns related to the students.Completes and submits paperwork, instructional data, and behavior data in a timely fashion as scheduled per students assigned.Uses Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students upon completing trainingDemonstrates familiarity with behavior management and behavior education techniques used at TRS.Acts as a role model and sets an appropriate example for students, staff, and the community.Demonstrates familiarity with the IEP by using resources to implement students’ academic program under the direction and training of the classroom teacher and the TRS Education Leadership team.Engages students in active learning as directed by the classroom teacher.Provides support for all staff working within the classroom setting and ensures that Education Department policies are withheld.QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent Required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferredMust possess a valid Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record.At least one year of experience working with special needs students preferredA demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problemsAbility to remain calm under pressure while maintaining self-composure and self-controlEffective working alone and as a member of a teamWAGES & BENEFITSHours: 8am-4pmSchedule: Monday- Friday Regular School Year + ESY & Bobcat Camp Availability (*Year Round Employment)Pay Rate: $20/hour startingGenerous PTO packageTuition Assistance program for further professional developmentHealth, Dental, Vision insurance + Free short-term/long-term disability, life insuranceWe are an Employee Owned Company!
