Job summary

Pueblo County School District 70 is hiring a Paraprofessional at Rye High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports students with academic, behavioral, health care, and routine needs, under supervision. Strong HQ credentials or higher education credentials are required or preferred.

The position is 155 days, 8 hours per day, with a salary range of $18.63-$47.09 per hour. Applicants must meet HQ criteria or have equivalent education and participate in standard district hiring checks.

Qualifications

• HQ criteria: 48 college credits OR passing Work Keys/Praxis OR an Associate degree or higher.
• External candidates may have different salary steps based on experience and education.
• Preferred: AA or BA degree.

• Assist students with a wide variety of needs including academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and health care supports.
• Support learning, mobility, and communication as needed.

Job Summary

The paraprofessional is responsible for assisting students with a wide variety of needs by providing any combination of the following: individualized academic, behavioral, functional life skills and/or social-emotional instruction; medical/health care, feeding and/or hygiene supports; and student assistance with learning, mobility, emotional regulation, health care, and/or communication.

Qualifications

• ** High School Diploma or GED
• ** MUST be Highly Qualified (Highly Qualified HQ is defined as having 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university, OR having successfully passed the Work Keys Test or Praxis Test for Paraprofessionals, OR having an Associates Degree or higher). Work Keys testing is available through the Work Force Center in Pueblo or Pikes Peak BOCES.
