Job summary

Benchmark Human Services in Georgia is seeking a Paraprofessional/Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) for Mobile Crisis to provide supportive crisis services to individuals in behavioral health crises. The role covers all counties in Region 6 of GA with a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule.

Qualifications include a driver's license, dependable transportation with insurance, a high school diploma/GED, and CPS certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Driver's license required.
  • Dependable transportation with vehicle insurance.
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • Certified peer specialist or eligible to become one.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet client needs.
  • Experience with individuals in mental health crises preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis support to individuals in behavioral health crisis or at risk of one.
  • Comply with health, safety and respect standards for consumers.
  • Be part of blended mobile crisis as scheduled and needed.
  • Provide crisis follow-up within 24 hours of crisis disposition.
  • Complete face-to-face follow-up with individuals after crisis response.
  • Link individuals with appropriate follow-up psychiatric, social, and medical services.
  • Complete documentation per policies and procedures.
  • Assist in safety planning as directed by clinician.
  • Attend community partner meetings and provide crisis education.
  • Attend scheduled training and staff meetings.
  • Assist with crisis response with average 60-minute response time.

Our Georgia Mobile Crisis program is recruiting for a Paraprofessional/Certified Peer Specialist (CPS).

Description: The Paraprofessional/Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) will provide mobile crisis support services to individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis or are in a situation likely to turn into a behavior health crisis if supportive services are not provided. We provide thorough training, great challenges, and even greater fulfillment as you help individuals reach their maximum potential. Serve all counties in Region 6 of GA.

Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide crisis support services to individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis or are in a situation likely to turn into a behavior health crisis if supportive services are not provided.
  • Comply with all standards to ensure the health, safety and respect of consumers we serve
  • Act as a member of the blended mobile crisis as scheduled and needed
  • Provide crisis follow-up services within 24 hours of crisis disposition
  • Complete face-to-face follow-up with individuals, as assigned, after crisis response
  • Ensure individuals are linked with appropriate follow-up psychiatric, social, and or medical services prior to final follow-up
  • Complete documentation as required by Benchmark Human Services and state and federal regulations
  • Assist in the completion of safety plans, as directed by the clinician
  • Attend community partner meetings in the region and provides education regarding blended mobile crisis.
  • Attend all scheduled training and staff meetings
  • Assist with crisis response as required, including face-to-face response within an average of 60 minutes
  • Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with applicable policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Driver's license
  • Dependable transportation + vehicle insurance
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Some college preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness, emotional disorders, and substance-related disorders who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crisis (5 years preferred)
  • Certified as a peer specialist or meets qualifications to be a certified peer specialist.
  • Must be willing to flex schedule according to the needs of the individual and blended mobile crisis.
  • Thorough background history will be completed.
