Job summary

Buckeye Elementary School District's McCain Elementary in Arizona is seeking a Paraprofessional B to provide grade-level support and assist teachers under supervision. This 10-month, 29-hour-per-week position reports to site or program administration and starts immediately.

The role requires a high school diploma, fingerprint clearance, and First Aid/CPR. Spanish language skills preferred, with duties including in-class support, playground supervision, and data entry using Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• First Aid/CPR Certification and AED required upon hire or within 30 days.
• Ability to speak fluent Spanish is preferred.
• Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention certification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (written or oral).
• Experience with school-age children and with children with severe needs.
• Professional development history showing knowledge of students with severe needs.
• Experience with various levels of instruction; reading intervention experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and student data systems.

Responsibilities

• Paraprofessionals may work in regular classrooms, ESL, special needs, or other settings.
• Duties include supervision in playground, lunchroom, buses, and transportation.
• Assist in instructional support and materials preparation.
• Maintain classroom safety and order; support English language development.
• Assist in field trips and extracurricular activities; monitor student progress.
• Maintain records and report incidents to supervisors; participate in training.
