Job summary

Little City Foundation is seeking a Paraprofessional Educator to support teachers, implement educational plans, and assist with daily classroom activities in a therapeutic day school setting.

Preferred candidates hold a Paraprofessional Educator License or higher; a High School Diploma/GED is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in education or related field as a bonus. Training and certifications including CPR are required; role includes lifting up to 50 pounds and CPR/CPI capability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; preferred Bachelor’s Degree in education, human services, or disability related field.
• Paraprofessional Educator License or higher (Professional Educator License with Stipulations) preferred.
• Experience or certification related to special education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to assigned students to implement educational programs.
• Constructs/modifies/adapts instructional materials and learning centers.
• Operates supportive technology with students.
• Maintains records and IEP-related data.
• Implements behavioral programming as determined by team.
• Provides personal and safety assistance to students.
• Assists with classroom transitions, meals, and toileting.
• Supervises students in various settings and activities.
• Fosters student independence and teamwork.

Occasional exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants. School work environment with a noise level of normal to loud.
