Job summary

Eagle Ridge Academy in Minnesota seeks a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional to support and reinforce classroom objectives for K-12 students. You will adapt activities, administer assignments, and collaborate with teachers to ensure compliant, supportive services.

Responsibilities include monitoring students in various settings to maintain a safe, positive learning environment and assisting with IEP-related goals as directed by the supervising teacher.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• HQ (Highly Qualified) status by start date per Minnesota requirements.
• Two years of college credits or an Associate's degree meets HQ options.
• Passing score on Para Pro/Para Educator/Para Pathways may be required.

Job description

Eagle Ridge Academy is a Tuition-Free Classical, College-Preparatory Charter School serving students and families in grades K-12. Eagle Ridge offers an academically rigorous education that uses a time-tested, Classical, liberal arts curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher (e.g. reinforcement of IEP goals and objectives, etc.) for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives as well as providing an opportunity for all special education students to participate in classroom activities.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom.
• Collaborates with supervising teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines
• Monitors special education students (e.g. classroom, field trips, lunchroom, playground, during life enrichment activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.

Hours are 7:30am - 3:30pm.

Minimum Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or equivalane
• Applicants must be considered Highly Qualified (HQ) to work as a special education paraprofessional by their start date per the Minnesota Department of Education
  • Applicants meet the HQ requirement if they have:
    • Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota's standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete tow years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
    • An Associate's (or higher) degree; Minnesota's standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR

    • Receive a passing score on the Para Pro, Para Educator, or Para Pathways Assessment

Salary $21.50-26.99 per hour

Position: full-time, school year
