Ouachita Parish School District seeks a paraprofessional to support teachers in the classroom under direct supervision. The role assists with instruction, prepares materials, and supports students during lessons.
Qualifications include a high school diploma and being Highly Qualified per state rules: 48 credit hours (6 Math, 9 English/Reading) or an associate degree or Paraprofessional Exam; CPR/First Aid training within 60 days may be required. Driver's license may be requested.

The paraprofessional will perform his/her duties under the direct supervision of a teacher. The role
of he instructional paraprofessional is to assist the teacher with teaching related activities. The
instructional paraprofessional will assist and support the teacher by carrying our delegated
activities and assignments. In addition to routine duties, the instructional paraprofessional will
work in the classroom in direct involvement with children when the planning has been properly
done by the teacher.
