Job summary

Gem Prep, part of Gem Innovation Schools, is seeking paraprofessionals to support student success in math and language arts. You will guide small-group instruction and assist certified teachers in planning strategies to meet diverse student needs under supervision.

You will help students use online software, monitor progress, and proctor makeup work, contributing to a fast-paced educational environment that values integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some higher education preferred.
  • 18 college credits or ability to pass PRAXIS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong aptitude for working with children, parents, and teachers.
  • Willing to use technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group academic support in alignment with certified teacher instruction.
  • Assist certified staff in creating strategies that meet individual students’ needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Support students in using online software programs, monitor progress, and proctor tests or makeup work as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with certified teachers about student progress and needs.
  • Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance student learning.

Gem Prep is a K-12 college preparatory school. Our goal is to have all secondary students graduate from high school with an associate degree. Our elementary program builds a strong academic foundation for grades 6-12.

Position Summary

Paraprofessionals at Gem Prep play a vital role in supporting student success. This position includes tutoring students in math and language arts, guiding small-group instruction, and managing elective courses under the supervision of certified teachers. This is an opportunity to directly impact students’ learning while gaining valuable professional experience in a rewarding, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
