Job summary

ConvenientMD is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to join our urgent care team in Merrimack, NH. As a nationally registered EMT, you will support clinicians, perform triage, and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

You'll conduct vitals, assist exams, perform point-of-care tests, manage airway and medications, and help maintain accurate electronic records while collaborating across the clinic and training new team members. Shift options include full-time, part-time, or per diem.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Licensed paramedic (nationally certified) with prior IV experience.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients: take vitals, document history, observe for immediate needs.
• Assist exams and procedures, prep equipment and documentation.
• Perform diagnostic tests: vision, hearing, drug screens, flu, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipids, urinalysis.
• Provide cardiac/airway management: ECGs, AED, nebulizers, oxygen.
• Deliver wound care, immunizations, med administration per regs.
• Maintain EMR accuracy and document treatment details.
• Ensure instruments/equipment are clean and sterile.

Your Impact

Patient Care & Triage

• Conduct comprehensive patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
• Assist with patient exams, ensuring all necessary equipment and documentation are prepared, while supporting providers during testing and procedures.

Clinical Procedures

• Perform diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more.
• Execute point-of-care testing such as strep, flu, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis.
• Provide cardiac and airway management, including ECGs, AED use, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen administration.
• Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration per federal and state regulations.

Patient Engagement & Documentation

• Assist with patient inquiries, communicate test results, and explain medication or therapy plans.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting patient histories and treatment details.
• Observe and report changes in patients' conditions, taking necessary action as needed.

Clinic Operations

• Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained per organizational policies.
• Maintain a stocked and sterile workspace, supporting smooth clinic operations.

Collaboration with Clinical Team

• Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
• Welcome and support the training of new team clinic team members.

Required Availability

• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and/or non-consecutive days.
• Full-time: Must be able to work three (3) 12-hour shifts a week with at least four (4) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
• Part-time: Must be able to work two (2) 12-hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
• Per diem: Must be able to work four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, ideally working one (1) shift each week.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays.
• Must be able to work at a minimum of three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
• Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute.

Who You Are

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification and demonstrated prior experience: Licensed paramedic (preferably nationally certified) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. We do not accept CPR, ACLS certifications, or online only classes.

• Technically savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, experience with or ability to learn Experity as well as other business systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• 1-2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred.
