Job summary

University of South Alabama seeks a licensed EMT-Paramedic to operate the transfer center, coordinate inter-facility patient transfers, and ensure efficient bed assignment and care planning. You will work with physicians and hospital staff to optimize patient movement and information accuracy.

Responsibilities include triage, data entry, adherence to EMTALA/compliance policies, and ongoing training with hospital systems. Regular attendance and ability to work defined overtime are required.

Qualifications

• EMT-Paramedic graduate with active Alabama Paramedic license.
• Demonstrated high accuracy in data entry and patient info handling.
• Strong communication and professional phone etiquette required.

Responsibilities

• Manage transfer call center functions and document facility service profiles and care protocols.
• Coordinate transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to destination facilities via a single call.
• Facilitate patient throughput with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Transfer Center Specialists to ensure timely transfers and bed assignments.
