Job summary

USA Health in Mobile, AL seeks an experienced EMT-Paramedic to coordinate patient transfers and facilitate throughput across facilities. You will work with transfer centers, physicians, and receiving hospitals to ensure timely, safe patient movement and accurate clinical information.

Required EMT-Paramedic course, Alabama paramedic license on hire, and a valid driver's license. Regular 20+ hour schedule qualifies for benefits; working within a hospital transfer team, you will uphold EMTALA,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 3 years paramedic experience required.
• Graduate of an EMT-Paramedic course required.
• Paramedic – Licensed as a paramedic in Alabama upon hire.
• Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable for insurance.
• Comparable education/experience may substitute for above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to a final destination facility from all referral sources.
• Facilitate patient throughput and ensure timely transfer with appropriate bed assignment.
• Liaise with physicians, transfer centers, and receiving facilities to communicate patient status.
• Adhere to EMTALA, ethics, and compliance policies and maintain quality initiatives.
