HonorHealth Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a part-time Paramedic Technician for evening shifts in the Emergency Department. You will work under the direction of physicians, RNs and PAs to deliver high-quality patient care, including vital signs, phlebotomy, IV initiation, and patient transport.

The role requires EMT-P training and AZ Paramedic Certification, with BLS, ACLS and PALS credentials. Prior Paramedic experience is preferred in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5 is required.
• Preferred: Prior Paramedic experience.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive patient care under the supervision of licensed personnel.
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient condition.
• Assist with phlebotomy, IV initiation, eye irrigation, catheterization, and other procedures.
• Assist with patient transport and maintain a safe, clean care environment.

Responsible for providing comprehensive quality patient care in an accurate and timely manner according to established patient standards and practice. Knowledge and necessary skills will be utilized to effectively meet the needs of patients of all age groups and developmental levels. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, initiation of peripheral intravenous, phlebotomy, eye irrigation, urinary catheterization, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of licensed caregiver. Duties may include administrating medications under the supervision of licensed personnel in accordance with approved medication list. Assisting with patient transport, maintaining a safe environment by cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and turning over rooms as required. Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.* Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered. Reinforces patient education under the direction of licensed personnel to ensure the continuum of care.* Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
