Position Summary

The Paramedic responds to emergency and non-emergency situations, providing advanced and basic life support to patients. Ensures the unit is well-equipped and stocked. Responsible for scheduling and shift coverage, which may include day, night, 24-hour, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Paramedic program.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic certification; National Registry preferred.
• Two years of full-time Paramedic experience desired.
• Life Safety certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS/EPC/PEPP required upon hire and maintained.
• Attain BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS within 6 months of hire and maintain.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs, twist, bend, walk, run, kneel, and transport patients, often in adverse weather conditions. Tasks may last over an hour per call and involve handling uncooperative or obese patients.
