Job description

Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured.

Administers direct care to patients of all age groups under the supervision of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician’s assistant, or emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner, or follows approved EMS medical protocols during transport.

Ensures compliance with hospital and department policies, as well as paramedic scope of practice.

Requirements:

• Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Licensure by the Kentucky Board of EMS
• Valid Kentucky Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
• Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association
• Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association, which may be obtained within 90 days of employment
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association
• Additional certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS
