Job summary

Johnson Memorial Hospital and Home & Community Health Services in Stafford Springs, CT is seeking a Per Diem Paramedic for rotating shifts, delivering advanced prehospital care and transporting patients in coordination with clinicians.

This role requires a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Paramedic program, a CT paramedic license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS. Per diem scheduling offers generous shift differentials and opportunities to make a real life-saving impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of an accredited Paramedic program.
• Current Paramedic CT license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Must have the ability to think and act calmly in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Interacts on a professional level with patients, families and public safety agencies, delivering exemplary care and customer service.
• Transports sick and/or injured patients to or between medical facilities or residences.
• Operates and maintains company vehicles as required.
• Performs daily vehicle maintenance checks and cleans the unit daily.
• Replenishes medical equipment and supplies as needed.
• Assists in operating communications equipment for contact with the communications department.
• Responds to service requests with appropriate prioritization as directed by the dispatcher.
• Assists in routine housekeeping tasks in and around the building/station.
• Completes Patient Care Reports with insurance data and submits them before shift end.
