Join to apply for the Paramedic Per Diem role at University Hospital.

The primary purpose of the Paramedic PD (Per Diem) position is to provide and direct pre-hospital Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS, ALS) in all weather conditions, in concert with other EMS employees, as a member of the patient care team under the supervision of a licensed Medical Control Physician (MCP) and EMS Supervisor. The role involves assessing, treating, lifting, moving, and transporting patients of all ages and populations to medical facilities, completing documentation, and supporting EMS operations professionally.

Qualifications:

• At least two (2) years EMS experience and two (2) years EMS driving experience with a good driving record.
• Preferred: Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) training, PHTLS or BTLS provider card.
• Ability to pass medical evaluation and respirator fit test, wear N95 mask as per PEOSHA standards.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills preferred; electronic medical records experience preferred.
• Current and active credentials as a NJ Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic or Nurse, with a requirement to obtain NJ MICN certification within 180 days if not already certified.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP-A, ICS Level 100 or higher, NIMS Awareness, Hazardous Materials and CBRNE/WMD Awareness.

Physical Demands: Must be in excellent physical condition, able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs frequently and up to 125 lbs occasionally, and perform duties in all weather and environmental conditions.

Work Environment: Ability to work in diverse conditions, including extreme temperatures, and handle unpredictable situations and patient crises, with potential exposure to blood-borne and respiratory pathogens, requiring PPE.
