Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Transportation Services Ambulance Service, is seeking a Medical Care Transportation Technician - Paramedic.

Located at the VAMC - Phoenix, AZ, the role requires responding to emergencies, providing BAS/LAS care, and transporting patients to medical facilities. Candidates must hold a valid paramedic license, BLS and ACLS, a driver’s license, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid/state issued Paramedic license.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
• Must possess a valid unrestricted state driver's license.
• Must be proficient in basic written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Respond to accidents and other emergencies involving injury or illness.
• Perform patient triage and record vital signs.
• Conduct complete assessment and determine transport modality.
• Administer Basic and Advanced Life Support care and monitor patient status.
• Operate emergency transport vehicles and EMT equipment.
• Read maps, program GPS, and select routes for patient transport.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment and ensure readiness for next run.
