GoHealth Urgent Care in Bridgeville, PA is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patients through registration, triage, and front-line care in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role emphasizes patient-centered service, accurate documentation, and teamwork with providers to deliver efficient, quality care. A high school diploma and MA-related training are required or preferred; certification options are outlined with 15-month completion expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• CPOE certification within two weeks of start date.
• MA certification or equivalent experience welcomed (see options).

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals.
• Perform opening/closing duties and equipment checks.
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.

Job Requirements:

Education

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred

Experience

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Front desk or patient registration experience preferred
• BLS certification required at time of hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)

Certification / Equivalent Experience

Candidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications:

• CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
• CMA - Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
• RMA - Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
• NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
• NRCMA - Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)

In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
• 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
• Paramedic
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

***Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire***

CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.
