Job summary

American Ambulance of Visalia Inc in Visalia, California is seeking a Paramedic to perform high‑level patient care and lead EMS teams during shifts. You will ensure safe transport, operate ambulances, and maintain all equipment and documentation in compliance with local protocols.

The role requires CA Paramedic licensure, accreditation, and the ability to supervise team members while upholding safety and ethical standards. ACLS/PALS certifications are expected and may be pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and patient handling.
• Must be licensed as Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic in California.
• Accredited Paramedic by Central California EMS Agency.
• Ability to direct team members and conduct duties following health, safety and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transport of ill/injured patients per local protocols and medical control.
• Operate ambulance/Medivan safely under varying conditions.
• Manage equipment and maintain vehicle and station readiness during shifts.
• Complete paperwork including invoices, PCR forms and checklists accurately.
• Sign in/out controlled drugs and report discrepancies.
• Maintain vehicle security; ensure ambulances parked in garages when needed.
• Oversee radio transmissions and dispatch directions.
• Coordinate EMS continuing education as assigned by QI/Training Coordinator.
• Attend mandatory trainings and continuing education credits; obtain ACLS/PALS as required.
