Job summary

Citrus County Government seeks a skilled paramedic to contribute to Countywide Fire Rescue and Emergency Services. You will respond to emergencies, provide on-scene medical care, and coordinate with dispatch and hospitals to ensure patient safety.

You must hold a Florida Paramedic license, CPR/ACLS, EVOC, and FEMA NIMS certifications; a valid Florida driver license is required. The role requires shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at appointment.
• Valid Florida Driver License or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida.
• Clear/Active State of Florida Paramedic license; CPR, ACLS, EVOC.
• IS-100.c, IS-200.b, IS-700.b, IS-800.c FEMA NIMS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls and assesses patient status on arrival.
• Provides basic life support and emergency medical care at the scene.
• Operates medical equipment including cardiac monitor and ventilations.
• Documents activity and communicates with dispatch, hospital staff, and other responders.
• Keeps equipment maintained, restocked, and participates in training.
