UPMC EMS invites you to join the Paramedic Intern Program in Williamsport, PA, a hands-on path blending EMT practice with advanced prehospital education.

During the January 4 to December 14, 2027 program you will train under a Paramedic preceptor, develop ALS skills, and complete required certifications and the NRP exam. Graduation occurs December 17, 2027, with a two-year education agreement as part of the program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in a CAAHEP/CoAEMSP-accredited Paramedic Training Program.
• Participation in required field internship to meet NRP testing eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls while providing high-quality patient care.
• Develop advanced assessment and treatment skills through real-world clinical experiences.
• Learn and perform ALS procedures under a Paramedic preceptor.
• Assist with interfacility transports using advanced transport protocols.
• Administer medications and perform interventions per education program and EMS protocols.
• Document patient care and communicate critical information during handoffs.
