Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland is seeking Paramedic Instructors to deliver instruction aligned with course objectives and assess student competency. You will prepare classrooms and equipment, conduct diverse instructional activities, and adapt curricula based on reviews and evolving standards.
The position requires AHA BLS, ACLS, & PALS certifications, Nationally Registered Paramedic in good standing, at least 3 years ALS experience, and an associate degree.

Job Description
Paramedic Instructors provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to their students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by course curricula and successfully meet course objectives. Instructors may be required to evaluate students’ performance by verifying their understanding of the course material, competency of learned skills, and their ability to demonstrate applied knowledge. The Harford Community College Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, (www.caahep.org) upon recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions, (CoA EMSP ).
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia.
Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

Required Education
Tier I Paramedic Instructor requirements include:
Required Experience
Tier I instructors must be a Nationally Registered Paramedic in good standing and have ALS experience.
Tier II instructor requirements include that of Tier I, plus a minimum of three years of demonstrated ALS experience and three or more years of demonstrated Paramedic Instruction experience, delivering primary content, skills instruction, evaluation, and remediation. At least one year of Paramedic Instruction experience must be at the ACLS level.
Tier III instructor requirements include those of Tier I and Tier II, plus the ability to demonstrate specialized training for contract training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Tier II & Tier III instructors must have demonstrated knowledge of instructional methods.
