Job summary

American Medical Response in Virginia is hiring a Paramedic for a full-time role in the Richmond/Tappahannock area. You will perform advanced patient care on 911 responses, operate defibrillators and monitoring equipment, and lead on-scene management with a commitment to community relations.

The position requires a State Paramedic License, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
State Paramedic License and ACLS/NREMT-Paramedic required.
Valid driver's license and driving record compliant.
Pass Physical Agility Test.
Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow Paramedics.
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
