Job summary

St. Joseph Health – Bryan/College Station, TX is seeking a Paramedic to provide advanced emergency medical care and transport in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings.

You will rapidly assess scenes, evaluate conditions, perform life-saving interventions, and document care while safely operating emergency vehicles.

Strong clinical skills, calm decision making under stress, and compassionate communication are essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have TX EMT-Paramedic certification and valid TX driver's license.
• BLS-CPR certification required; willingness to obtain/maintain.
• Experience with St. Joseph hospital system or similar pre-hospital EMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess scenes and provide patient care according to protocol.
• Perform patient assessments and determine treatment and transport decisions.
• Synchronized cardioversion.
• Medication administration: Ancef, Dopamine, Etomidate, Fentanyl, Heparin, Labetalol, Metoprolol, Levophed, Phenergan, Rocuronium, Versed.
• MICU transports and Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI).

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced emergency medical care and transport to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings.

Every day you will rapidly assess scenes, evaluate conditions, and administer life‑saving interventions, while safely operating emergency vehicles and documenting care.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking under stress, and compassionate communication, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

• Personal, crew, patient and bystander's safety: scene size up, emergency scenes are dynamic events; the paramedic should always look out first for their safety and then the safety of others.
• Patient Assessment and delivery of care: provides patient care functions according to protocol, procedure and written directives to level of certification. Performs a patient assessment throughout a call on every patient encountered, providing appropriate treatment and transportation decisions within the P2 scope of practice.
