Job summary

Mercy EMS is seeking a Paramedic (EMT-P) in Cassville to provide direct patient care and transport, under Medical Director guidance. The role includes emergency and non-emergency response, equipment readiness, and documentation in alignment with Mercy standards.

The position requires Paramedic (EMT-P) licensure, ACLS at hire, Hazmat awareness, and PALS within 6 months. Full-time hours with a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Paramedic (EMT-P) in the state of employment.
• Age: Applicants must be at least 19 years old to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Certifications: Hazmat awareness, ACLS at hire, PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Physical: Lift 50 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Responsibilities

• Operates an emergency vehicle and transports patients to destinations.
• Ensures ambulance and equipment are stocked, clean, and ready for use.
• Assesses patient needs and provides comprehensive pre-hospital care.
• Demonstrates proficiency in pre-hospital life support skills.
• Maintains radio communications with fluency and accuracy.

Overview

Under the direction of the Medical Director and according to the protocols, procedures and policies of Mercy EMS performs direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced medical rescue to access, stabilize, evacuate and transport a patient to an appropriate destination according to the goals of Mercy System, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, Standard of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Paramedics also perform clerical, maintenance duties. Performs related duties as assigned.

Job Duties

• Operates an emergency vehicle, responding to emergency and non-emergency scenes and transporting patients to appropriate destinations.
• Ensures that the assigned ambulance and items of equipment are stocked, clean, maintained and ready to use.
• Assesses patient to promote optimal levels of wellness throughout pre-hospital care and implements patient care to assure comprehensive holistic care
• Demonstrates proficiency in pre-hospital basic & advanced life support skills.
• Demonstrates appropriate radio communications including fluency, organization, and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Paramedic (EMT-P) license for the state where employed, valid driver's license.
• Experience: Applicants must be at least 19 years of age to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Certifications: Hazmat awareness level training, ACLS at hire, PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
