Job description

**Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department**

_Fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department seeking skilled Paramedic._

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022

Work hours: Full Time, Night Shift (7p to 5a), 3 shifts/week, 32 hours/week. Includes weekends and holidays. Complete benefits offered.

  • High patient volume, averaging 200 patients/day

The professional paramedic demonstrates understanding of human needs, patient affiliations, and provides safe, effective care.

What You Will Do:

Provide safe patient care under physician delegation, including:

  • Administer IV fluids (saline, antibiotics, IV medications excluding controlled and RSI meds), ACLS drugs with barcode verification, IM and oral medications (excluding controlled drugs)
  • Complete accurate electronic health record documentation
  • Attend to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, mobility, hygiene needs
  • Apply antiembolic stockings, cervical collars, external defibrillation, oxygen therapy, oral airways
  • Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access, blood draws, and other duties as assigned by RN

  • ACLS within 90 days of hire
  • BCLS prior to independent care and quarterly maintained
  • PALS within 90 days of hire
  • CPI training in ED within 60 days of hire
