Qualifications

Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department

Fast-paced, high volume Emergency Department is looking for top skilled Paramedic. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Denton, 3000 N. I-35 in Denton, TX 76201.

Work hours: Full Time, Evening Shift (3p to 3a), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Complete benefits available.

What You Will Do

Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation:

  1. Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. All IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient
  2. Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  3. Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs
  4. Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices
  5. Cervical collar management
  6. External defibrillation
  7. Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application
  8. Oral airway insertion and removal
  9. Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access
  10. Draw blood from ports
  11. Other duties as assigned by RN

Here’s What You Need

  1. High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  2. 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required. 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred
  3. EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or
  4. LP - Licensed Paramedic
  5. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and
  6. BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
  7. PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and
  8. CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only), within 60 days of hire required.
