Job summary

Leon County Government is seeking an entry-level Paramedic paraprofessional to provide basic and advanced life support and transport patients. You will drive to scenes, assist paramedics, document care, and ensure ambulance readiness in compliance with state standards.

Requires Florida Paramedic Certification and BLS/ACLS/PALS/ITLS equivalents, plus the ability to lift heavy loads and communicate effectively with teams and patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
• Must possess Florida Paramedic Certification and BLS/ACLS/PALS/ITLS or equivalents.
• Ability to lift/push/carry in excess of 100 pounds.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced life support as directed by a paramedic.
• Drive ambulance safely to scenes and hospitals under various conditions.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and inventory control.
• Document patient care and prepare required reports.
• Assist in transporting patients to emergency departments.
