What You'll Do

1. Respond to emergency calls and provide essential medical care to patients in need.
2. Administer appropriate medical treatment according to protocols.
3. Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients in various settings.
4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
6. Comply with continuing education and licensure requirements.
7. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
8. Inspect and report issues with vehicles and equipment.
9. Participate in public education and safety programs.
10. Respond to fire alarms, operate firefighting and rescue equipment, and perform search and rescue operations.
11. Attend firefighting and emergency medical training and drills.
12. Assist in training fire department personnel and maintain inventory of medical supplies.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Valid Illinois Driver's License
3. Completion of Paramedic program and Illinois Department of Public Health License
4. Ability to complete continuing education requirements
5. Firefighter Certifications (for Firefighter applicants)
6. Successful background check
7. Pass pre-employment tests including physical, drug screening, and agility tests

• PHTLS/BTLS/ITLS
• CPR Instructor
