Job summary

City of Walla Walla seeks a dedicated firefighter/paramedic to protect life and property through fire suppression, prevention, and emergency medical aid. You will operate pumps and ladders, conduct rescues, and perform search/overhaul while maintaining EMS credentials.

Responsibilities include public safety education, station tours, and ongoing training to meet state standards. Strong teamwork and physical fitness are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age by hire and a U.S. citizen or lawful resident.
• Current WA State Paramedic certification or transfer within 30 days.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record; EVIP within 3 months.
• Ability to meet physical and medical standards; non-user of tobacco.

Responsibilities

• Participate in fire suppression, rescue, and EMS response.
• Operate pumps, ladders, hoses, and fire apparatus at scenes.
• Perform search, salvage, overhaul, and casualty care as trained.
• Provide public safety education and station tours; training duties.
• Maintain EMS certifications and complete required continuing education.
