Summit Point Raceway Associates in Summit Point, WV, seeks a Paramedic/Firefighter to deliver Basic Life Support and maintain EMS-ready equipment on our facilities. Applicants must hold WV/National Registry Paramedic credentials, WV EMS Protocols within 60 days, and associated certifications (BLS, ACLS, ITLS/PHTLS, PALS/PEPP).

The primary function of a Summit Point Paramedic/Firefighter is to provide Basic Life Support care to those in need at our facility within the guidelines set forth by the State of West Virginia Office of EMS. The paramedic/Firefighter should be able to operate and maintain ambulance and equipment and maintain skill sets, and certifications as required. Paramedic/Firefighters must protect the Summit Point Training Facility property which includes high speed racetracks, buildings, wooded areas, explosive ranges and other structures and areas. The position participates in fire suppression, vehicle extrication/stabilization, and standby for the explosives range.
This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods in both training and operational environments. Duties routinely involve mobility throughout a large campus setting, including classrooms, driving tracks, tactical ranges, training structures, garages, paddock areas, and outdoor event spaces. Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, smoke, fuel vapors, hazardous materials, toxic chemicals, dust, fumes, loud noises, firearms and ammunition, moving vehicles, electrical and mechanical hazards, explosives simulation, and varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Essential physical activities include walking, running, standing for prolonged periods, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling, kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, dragging, lifting, and carrying equipment or patients in excess of 150 pounds with assistance when necessary. Work may require operating emergency vehicles and medical equipment, lifting above shoulder level, rapid response across uneven terrain, and use of both hands and legs in emergency and training scenarios. Employees must possess the ability to read, hear, communicate effectively, exercise sound judgment, and make critical decisions under pressure in fast-paced or high-risk environments. High-stress situations involving medical emergencies, training exercises, live-fire environments, motorsports activities, or security-related incidents may be encountered.
Work is performed in a dynamic environment that supports government, law enforcement, military, emergency response, and motorsports operations. Duties are conducted both indoors and outdoors across a multi-use training and event facility. Employees may work in classrooms, medical response areas, training venues, race facilities, garages, ranges, road courses, off-road environments, and remote areas of the property.
Schedules may include rotating schedules, extended hours, overtime, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and support during special events or emergency situations. Employees should expect frequent exposure to loud environments, emergency response activity, vehicle traffic, live training exercises, and rapidly changing operational demands. Work may require responding during adverse weather conditions and maintaining readiness during periods of increased operational tempo.
