Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Temple, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with FDA-regulated processes, contribute to vaccination programs for employees, and ensure adherence to environmental, health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with recognized nursing program and state requirements.
• EMT-Paramedic license currently active in the assigned state.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history review, physical examination and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues including donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance; assist pandemic investigations when authorized.
