Job summary

A biopharmaceutical company in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to manage donor eligibility and ensure a commitment to customer service and quality in plasma collection. The ideal candidate will hold an EMT-Paramedic certification and have clinical experience. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including proper management of informed consent.
• Evaluate donor reaction at the facility and follow applicable SOPs.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
• Support vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
