You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role:

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and adherence to guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs, supporting environmental, health, and safety (EHS) at the center.

How you will contribute

1. You will determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interviews, physical exams, blood tests, and reviewing SPE.
2. You will evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
3. You will refer complex cases to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
4. You will support vaccination programs for hepatitis B and seasonal flu for employees.
5. You will manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health or EHS as needed.
6. You may serve as a Pandemic Coordinator, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats, as authorized.

What you bring to Takeda:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, including recognized nursing program certification and state licensure as EMT-Paramedic.
2. Current CPR and AED certifications.
3. State-specific requirements for IV therapy.
4. Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
5. At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.

BioLife Compensation And Benefits Summary

We offer equitable pay and transparent pay practices. For the Roanoke location, the hourly wage range is $23.85 - $32.79, with actual wages based on experience, skills, and other factors. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holidays, and well-being programs.
