Methodist Hospitals in Gary, IN seeks a skilled Paramedic to respond to emergency calls, provide rapid care, and maintain patient stability until transport. You will work independently when needed and guide laypersons during emergencies, following SOPs and protocols.
Responsibilities include administering medications, starting IV lines, documenting care, and ensuring careful patient privacy and safety throughout urgent care scenarios.
Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to maintain care of the patient until ambulance arrives to take the patient to a medical facility. After receiving the call from the dispatcher, the Paramedic arrives to the location given, using the most expeditious route. The Paramedic must be able to work alone, and give instructions to laypersons during an emergency.
