Methodist Hospitals in Gary, IN is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) to respond to emergency calls and provide immediate patient care until transport to a medical facility. The role requires delivering airway management, ventilation, and CPR per protocols, while preserving patient privacy.
The EMT-B must work effectively, often alone, and communicate with laypersons during emergencies, adhering to SOPs and clinical guidance to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B) respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to maintain care of the patient until ambulance arrived to take the patient to a medical facility. After receiving the call from the dispatcher, the EMT-B arrives to the location given, using the most expeditious route. The EMT-B must be able to work alone, and give instructions to lay persons during and emergency.

Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information. Understands and supports the commitment of Methodist Hospitals in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for healthcare providers.
