Job summary

Liberty County Board of Commissioners is seeking skilled paramedics to join the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• More than one year of related experience required.
• Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
• Possession of appropriate state EMS certification at the Paramedic level.
• American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR required
• American Heart Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
• PHTLS preferred
• PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency medical calls and provide paramedic-level care.
• Obtain medical histories and determine appropriate aid according to guidelines.
• Communicate with medical personnel via radio and phone.
• Transport patients in an ambulance.
• Complete patient reports before end of shift.
• Replenish and check equipment and supplies at shift start.
• Participate in training and continuing education to maintain certification.
• Attend public functions to provide emergency medical response when needed.
