Job summary

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Paramedic - Emergency Services to join our full-time night shift with rotating weekends. You will work under the Medical Director and report to the charge nurse for shift assignments, delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform vital signs, ECGs, IVs, wound care, catheter insertions, and patient education. This role requires ACLS/BCLS and PALS within timeframes, as well as crisis intervention certification and paramedic

Qualifications

• Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of employment start date.
• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Must obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months of employment start date.
• Must obtain PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of employment start date.
• Paramedic certification required.
• No travel required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
• Assist with obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Assist with patient care and treatments including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications.
• Complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care.
• Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes.
• Clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required.
• Provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Paramedic will be able to provide quality care to patients under the direction of the Medical Director in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Medical City Healthcare. Reports to the charge nurse for shift assignments and direction of shift duties assigned. Each RN decides on a case-by-case basis what nursing tasks may be delegated to the unlicensed personnel in accordance with Rule 224 (relating to RN delegation in acute care settings or for patients with acute conditions).
