Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown seeks a Paramedic Nurse Extender to support patient-centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The role emphasizes safe care, education for patients and families, accurate information gathering and effective communication using available technology.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year Paramedic experience preferred, and current BCLS, ACLS, PALS (within 6 months if new), and GA Paramedic licensure; NR licensure

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support (CPR) required upon hire.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required upon hire.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required; new paramedics to specialty must complete within 6 months (180 days).
• LP - Licensed Paramedic current in the State of Georgia required; National Registry preferred.

Responsibilities:

The Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and task. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also, includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and the oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Qualifications:

Education

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS Certification Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required and
