Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA is seeking a Paramedic for our busy Emergency Department. This full-time day shift role supports patient care under the supervision of RNs and physicians.

You will perform EKGs, start IVs, administer medications, monitor patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Required BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred; active Georgia Paramedic license; strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (LP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage routes of delivery.
• Perform EKGs, start IVs, IOs, and draw blood.
• Assist in patient transport and monitor for arrhythmias as directed.

Overview:

Paramedic, Full Time Days

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center- Emergency Dept

• We are looking for positive, self-motivated, engaged and excited for growth individuals to join our team
• 38 bed Emergency Department that sees on average 160 patients a day that present with various acuities.
• We are a primary Stroke and Stemi receiving facility that is able to intervene and administer thrombolytics.
• Two helicopter pads on campus for utilization
• We have 5 PODs in our department, depending on acuity, is where the patient will be assigned
• Behavioral Health Pod
• We have Charge nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians and Unit Secretaries who work in close collaboration with the ED Providers to provide exceptional care
• All staff members must have a BLS to work in this unit. RN's must have ACLS and PALS required. NIH highly preferred, must obtain within allotted timeframe.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have a working knowledge of intramuscular, sublingual, oral, rectal, nebulizers, intravenous, and intravenous push medications-effect, side effects, drug to drug interaction and anaphylaxis protocol. Working knowledge of venous blood sampling, and cardiac monitor knowledge.
• Working knowledge of the body's systems to include neurological, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, primary and secondary trauma assessment.
• Must have strong customer service, interpersonal skills and be able to work with a team. Responsible for providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs. Able to assess a patient's needs and respond to direction by the Professional Registered Nurse and Physician.
• Perform EKG'S
• Perform Foley catheters
• Start IV'S, IO'S & draw blood.
• Transport patients to other departments.
• May be required to monitor patients for arrhythmias and report abnormal rhythms and changes immediately to Charge Nurse and Nurse

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS Certification Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required and
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date within 180 Days Required
• LP - Licensed Paramedic Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia and National Registry Preferred
