Job summary

Willis Knighton Health is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic to join the team in Shreveport, LA. The role involves providing advanced emergency care and technical support in a fast-paced ED environment under physician oversight.

Requirements include NREMT Paramedic certification, Louisiana paramedic licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and a minimum of three years of active paramedic experience. This is a temporary, evenings, PRN position within the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient assessments, vital signs, EKGs, and other data as permitted by scope of practice.
• Administer approved medications and treatments.
• Initiate IV access and perform advanced procedures.
• Assist physicians and nurses with emergency procedures and patient care.
• Perform CPR and participate in resuscitation efforts.
• Receive EMS handoff reports and coordinate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain clinical documentation and compliance with organizational policies and standards.
• Support teamwork, professionalism, patient-centered care, and continuous quality improvement.
