HCA Healthcare, Inc. seeks an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) for the Medical City Las Colinas ED in Irving, TX.

You will deliver direct patient care under RN direction, perform critical ED tasks, and support rapid assessment and treatment in a busy emergency department. The role requires Paramedic or EMT-Paramedic credentials, immediate ACLS/BCLS/PALS readiness, and a commitment to team-based, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paramedic licensure or EMT certification as EMT-Paramedic required.

Responsabilités

• Obtain and document vital signs and monitor patient status (SpO2, BP, etc.).
• Assist with 12-lead EKGs and IV management; maintain specimens for lab analysis.
• Assist with patient care including positioning, wound care, dressings, immobilization, casts, splints.
• Provide basic psychomotor skills and care-related activities.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and nasogastric tubes.
• Stock and clean carts/rooms and replace linens as required.
• Provide written instructions and educational materials to patients and families.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) provides direct patient care, within the scope of the Texas Paramedic/EMT Practice Act and under the direction of the Registered Nurse, in the Emergency Department. As an ER Advance d Care Tech, you perform a variety of functions for patients requiring urgent or emergency attention. What you will do in this role:

• You will assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
• You will assist with other technical functions such as: obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• You will assist with patient care and treatments including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications.
• You will complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care.
• You will assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes.
• You will clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required.
• You will provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• Paramedic, or (EMT-State) Emergency Medical Technician, or (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician
• 1 year experience as a Paramedic Preferred
