Qualifications

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
  • Medical Command eligible PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN
  • ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
  • One year experience (AHN EMS)

Responsibilities

  • Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
  • Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
  • Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
  • Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
  • Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
  • Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)

QUALIFICATIONS:
